The Goats' Billy moved around the court so fast it was hard to keep track of him.  Sheila made some incredible shots and her celebration dance could not keep you from smiling.  Kim always seemed to be in the right place at the right time and Harris and Mark's positive attitude and contributions assisted in their well-deserved victories.

The Rockets' team is a model of what teamwork can accomplish. The excitement when they play is infectious thanks to the cheering crowd they had. And when Hammie gets to the basket, he gets the job done every time! They kept the other team at bay with their seemingly effortless defensive play that earned them their well-deserved victories.

The Bulls' second game was a nail-biter going into two overtimes.  Our athletes fought extremely hard for every basket and collectively they played great defense. They had the coaches and parents on their feet cheering for everyone from both teams. The energy was addictive and their sportsmanship was inspirational. And while they did not win the game, they won the hearts of everyone that watched them play.

Ribbon Winners Chesapeake Wildcats

The Wildcats' had fierce competition in both games.  Shaun commandeered the court with his usual energy making the other team work hard for every play.  Jamile's focus in both games was praise worthy.  Mackinzie, Daniel and George worked tirelessly to move the ball to the basket and showed great resolve in their game playing.  George had such a great time at the state games that he tried to participate in every team's game!

Silver Medal Winners Chesapeake Full Court Lightning

With pinpoint passing and accurate shooting contributing equally to their demonstation of basketball skill they were awarded a Silver Medal in one of the toughest division in the tournatment.  Our Lightning full court team exhibited great sportsmanship and proved themselves as a team to be reckoned with.

The Individual Skills competition was a showcase of individual improvement our athletes have accomplished. Devon Crank set a personal record for his performance and was awarded a silver medal. Shane Leddy (No.6) showed his constant enthusiasm and joy in his huge growth and achievement.  This enthusiasm garnered him a ribbon and a equally enthusiastic fan following in the stands.  Stacey Kearnes competed in a very tough division/level.  That she  was put in that division, shows how much she has grown as an athlete. She proudly received a ribbon for her efforts. Veteran competitor of many state games, Colin Dupree (No 11) continued his long tradition of bringing home another medal (this one, bronze) to add to his trophy collection. Stephen Harvey brought home a medal from is first state competition. Steven was very excited as he described his skills to Coach Diane, "I threw the ball really far and really fast".
